Bio

Joan Torres is the writer and co-author of the best selling non-fiction Men Who Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them. She is also the co-creator of the cult Blacula films. Joan wrote the comedy thriller Better Half Dead and is the translator/adapter of playwright Janusz Głowacki's stage works, including Antigone in New York and Fortinbras Gets Drunk. She is an NEA recipient in Literature for her original screenplay Streethearts and a Chris Award winner in documentary films. Joan currently lives in New Mexico, where she has completed her first novel and is working on the sequel.
